Medical examiner

A medical examiner in Switzerland is a doctor who, on behalf of the public health administration ( health authorities ) or the statutory health and pension insurance, assesses the state of health of people and performs other expert functions, for example as an expert or when determining the ability to work or work, and who advises his clients on medical issues.

The medical examiner can be a freelance doctor, with or without his own practice, or an employee of the medical service of the health insurance companies.

In Switzerland the medical examiners are organized; the Swiss Society of Medical Doctors (SGV) was founded in 1985.

Germany
