Vibex

A vibex ( Latin vibex , genitive vibicis ; plural vibices ) is the medical name for a rice grain- sized hemorrhage in the area of dead spots , which is often seen in very pronounced dead spots. It is caused by intracutaneous burst bleeding in the dead spot area and is difficult to differentiate from vital point bleeding ( petechiae ). Vibices are important in thanatology and forensic medicine .

Vibices are also used as a synonym for stretch marks .
