Vibrasphere
Vibrasphere was a progressive psytrance duo from Uppsala , Sweden . It consisted of Rickard Berglöf and Robert Elster.
history
Vibrasphere began their musical career in the mid-1990s. Rickard's career blossomed in the new trance scene as a member of the group Subcouds and around the same time Robert made his first musical attempts on his Amiga . After the two met through Rickard's younger cousin, they decided to go to the studio together in 1998. This is how the band came about.
However, the constant touring took its toll on Robert and half a year after the release of their second album Lime Structure , he decided to leave the band. Rickard went on alone, on tour and in the studio, but his personal development gained momentum and the days of Vibrasphere seemed numbered.
In 2005 Robert decided to rejoin the band, but let Rickard continue touring. His return to the studio marked the return to the musical beginnings of Vibrasphere with the 2006 album Archipelago .
In 2006 the two came back into business with several releases as a duo. The EP Landmark EP , which was released in March of this year, was a preview of the third album Archipelago . Just as every archipelago is made up of numerous islands of various sizes and shapes, their goal was to create a multi-layered album with a central theme.
In 2007 the fourth album Exploring the Tributaries was released , in which the transitions between progressive, trance and house are quite fluid, while it also contains dub, downbeat and ambient tracks.
On December 11th, 2008 the fifth album Lungs of Life was released on CD and as a USB stick with bonus tracks, photos and remixes.
Vibrasphere announced in late 2010 that they would be disbanding.
