Vic Cherikoff

Vic Cherikoff is known as a connoisseur of Australian Bush Foods (also known as Bush Tucker ), the traditional diet and food preparation of the Aborigines . He has selected and marketed some of the 35 plant-based Aboriginal foods. He is the author of three books and numerous scientific publications. He introduced Australian cuisine to his television program Dining Downunder , which was broadcast in 48 countries. He finances, produces and hosts television shows with the chefs, Benjamin Christie and Mark McCluskey . Together with Christie, Cherikoff travels and presents Australian cuisine around the world, often with the Australian Trade Commission (Austrade) and in international hotels.

In the 1980s Cherikoff worked in the Human Nutrition Unit of the University of Sydney , where he the medicinal value of nutrition Aboriginal Professor Jennie Brand-Miller examined. Cherikoff earned a bachelor's degree in applied science from the University of Technology and conducts research in both clinical pharmacy and medical food science.

In the mid-1980s, he founded the Bush Tucker Supply Pty Ltd , which later became a division of Vic Cherikoff Food Services Pty Ltd was. He develops and sells products, such as ingredients for chefs, food and beverage manufacturers, and the cosmetics industry, and advertises them in books and on television. As a wholesaler, Cherikoff played a role in the early development of modern Australian Aboriginal food production, connecting local food supplies with markets, assisting Aboriginal communities and helping to create jobs. He works with other Bush food makers who were also pioneers and wrote several books on Bush food: The Bushfood Handbook , Uniquely Australian , a book on wilderness cooking and Dining Downunder Cookbook that he shared with Benjamin Christie wrote together.

Cherikoff itself follows the development of the ingredients to meet the demands of modern cuisine and modern manufacturing processes, such as soluble essential oils, encapsulated products, processed oils, CO 2 extracts and secret blends and formulas. He has also expanded the retail sales of his products.
