Video consultation

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In a video consultation , a secure and data protection compliant video telephone connection is established between doctor and patient. Only doctor and patient take part. The video consultation is used to advise the patient or to obtain a second opinion on a medical problem. In contrast to teleconsultation , no measurement parameters are collected or transmitted and no resulting on-site measures are carried out . Video consultation hours should be performed by a certified video service provider. Doctors and psychotherapists can only bill for the services in the context of the video consultation if they have shown their responsible association of statutory health insurance physicians that they are using a video service provider certified in accordance with Annex 31b of the BMV-Ä. After the contract is signed, the doctors receive a certificate stating that the video service is certified for information security, data protection and content. A complete list of the certified video service providers with links to the individual companies has been compiled by the KBV (National Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians).
