The villa on the main square

The Villa Hold (also: Holdenhof or Alte Sparkasse ) is a listed ( list entry ) villa in Feldbach in Styria .

The building on the church square between the parish church and the main square, built in neo-Gothic style around 1890, was built according to the plans of the Graz architect Gunoldt on behalf of the brewery owner and antique dealer Josefine Hold , daughter-in-law of Franz Hold († 1872). The Hold family owned a substantial stake in the Puntigam brewery from 1840 to 1889 . In 1918 the building was bought by the local savings bank and adapted for use by prisoners of war. In 1973 the villa was made available to the city music school and the choral society. Today it also houses the registry office and the citizenship association.
