Together with Haus Sanssouci, formerly Villa Julius, the villa is one of the two remaining buildings of the former Weinberg spa facility.

The Villa Max Adolf is located on the Elbe slope next to the vineyard on the former spa promenade (Weinbergsweg).

history

The Villa Max Adolf was built in 1887 by the merchant consul Ahrens from Hamburg. The building was part of an extensive spa complex, which included a spa hotel, various guest houses, a spa park and a theater on the vineyard. In 1932 the Deike family bought the villa. In the period from 1942 to 1951, the villa was rented from the Dannenberg District Hospital and used as a maternity hospital. It was then run as Pension Deike until 2003.

The building is a listed building as a single monument.
