Villa Wippermann
The Villa Wippermann is a former residential building in Halver . Today it is a cultural venue and houses the regional museum "Above an der Volme".
history
In 1895 the manufacturer Gustav Wilhelm Wippermann and his wife Aline (née Lüsebrink) built the villa.
As part of the restoration of the property, the wrought-iron entrance gate - at the time based on the model of the Versailles Palace and stored for many years - was put back in its original location.
House of Culture
Since 2017, the building has been one of the three “Houses of Culture” in Halver. The permanent facilities include a classroom from 1900 and a small kitchen. Furthermore, changing exhibitions show the history of the city, agriculture, economy, technology and people.
Special exhibitions, concerts, readings and other cultural events take place on the ground floor. This area is also used by the local registry office for weddings.
The park is one of the other attractions of the facility.
