Three years earlier, in January 1925, the show had first aired with Uncle Jimmy Thompson on WSM and from then on developed alongside WLS ' National Barn Dance to become the most famous country show in the country. In the early stages of the Opry, from 1925 to about 1935, many obscure groups performed there, including the Virginia Ramblers Orchestra.
