Virtual Private LAN Service

Virtual Private LAN Service (VPLS) is used to connect local networks over WANs . This service is a Layer 2 service based on MPLS . It allows Ethernet-based multipoint connections over MPLS networks. The MPLS network serves as a pure, transparent transport network (T-MPLS), which is why it is also referred to as Ethernet over T-MPLS.
