Voix ouvrière (organization)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Voix ouvrière is a French magazine. It was founded in 1956 by members who previously belonged to the Trotskyist Groupe Barta . The Romanian-French militant communist, trade unionist and journalist David Korner wrote articles for the magazine under the pseudonym Barta .

Initially, the magazine appeared as a journal with a small edition for several years together with the PCI- Lambert group . The bi- monthly Voix ouvrière bimensuel was published from 1963. Initially, the influential pamphlet-like paper had only four pages with an edition of 6000 copies, but later doubled its size to eight pages. From 1967 the magazine appeared weekly. After the student revolt and the general strike of May – June 1968, the Voix ouvrière , like all Trotskyist and left-wing extremist movements and associations , was banned by a decree of June 12, 1968 by the President of the Republic of Charles de Gaulle .

Lutte ouvrière

However, the movement is forming again, this time under the name of its magazine with the new title Lutte ouvrière .
