Volksbot

Volksbot is the name of a modular system for modular , mobile robots that was developed by the Fraunhofer Institute for Intelligent Analysis and Information Systems . The system is used in university or vocational training as well as for industrial rapid prototyping .

variants

The platform variants RT3, RT4 and RT6 (RT for "Rough Terrain") are each equipped with 3, 4 or 6 wheels, plus the VolksBot Indoor with 2 active and 2 passive wheels and the VolksBot XT (XT for "Extreme Terrain") ) also with 6 wheels, but in contrast to the RT6 with a lower payload and flexibly mounted wheel suspensions. These allow the model to climb stairs.

With the VolksBot Rescue, a robot with chain drive was developed in 2010 for use in difficult terrain during rescue operations for the EU research project NIFTi. With the VolksBot Drone, an air component was also added for NIFTi in 2012.
