The People's Union ( Arabic اتحاد الشعب, DMG Ittiḥād aš-Šaʿb , English People’s Union , or Program of People's Unity ), which ran in the elections in Iraq on January 30, 2005 (see Iraqi Government 2005 ), is a secular left-wing party list of the Iraqi Communist Party .
275 candidates, including communists, liberals, independent patriotic figures, ran for this list.
They received 69,920 votes and thus 2 seats in the National Assembly .
