The repair-prone number 4 (1887) was to be subjected to an expensive repair again in 1909. The management of the WB therefore decided to break off the machine and replace it with a new locomotive. The replacement machine was delivered in 1910. She was assigned No. 4 of the decommissioned locomotive that had become vacant. Internally, the locomotive was listed as No. 4 ".
