WEBrick is a free Ruby - programming library that a HTTP - Web server provides. WEBrick was mainly developed by Takahashi Masayoshi and Gotou Yuuzou , with contributions from many other developers due to the open source model. The software is published under the same licenses as Ruby (Ruby license and GPL ). It has been part of the standard library since Ruby 1.8.0 .
WEBrick is used for Ruby on Rails as a test server for the development environment.
The web server usually runs on port 3000.
