Forest insurance

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A forest insurance is able to cover insurance for forest owners, the various risks. This includes, for example, a forest fire, a storm or an accident with personal injury.

Forest insurance protects against unexpected risks and thus secures forest operations. With forest insurance, you can freely choose which risks you want to protect yourself against. A forest owner's liability insurance, a forest fire insurance and a forest storm insurance are offered.

The forest owner liability insurance

The owner of a forest is responsible for the traffic safety there ( § 823 BGB). If, for example, an accident occurs with forest workers or private individuals on forest paths in a private forest, this insurance protects against claims for damages and liability against third parties and takes action. The same applies if working machines, trailers or devices that do not require authorization and insurance are used with which an accident occurs. The insurance covers damage to property, property and personal injury.

The forest fire insurance

A forest fire represents an unforeseeable loss for a forest owner. Often one's own existence depends on this forest. If a forest fire occurs, be it due to natural forces such as lightning strikes or carelessness when throwing away cigarettes or the like, the forest fire insurance takes over and bears the financial risk. The scope of insurance includes standing forest as well as wood that has already been felled, clearing costs, the use of the fire brigade, culture costs and Christmas tree culture.

The forest storm insurance

Storms can devastate, damage or even destroy a forest. The severe damage caused by Hurricane Kyrill on 18./19. January 2007 created the desire to be able to protect against such risks in the future. Windthrow processing, i.e. clearing up the forest after a storm, as well as the subsequent reforestation are associated with high costs. You can protect yourself against these risks with forest storm insurance in combination with forest fire insurance, which is a prerequisite for forest storm insurance. The standing forest is insured.
