Tolima's coat of arms
The crest tolimas was created on December 7 1815th It is the main coat of arms and the official symbol of the Colombian department of Tolima . It was approved by law on December 7, 1815 by the Mariquita Province and sanctioned by José Leon Armero. In 1861 a new shield was introduced by a decree of April 12, 1861. In 1886 the sovereign state of Tolima disappeared as a department of Tolima and reassumed the shield of the Mariquita province.
