The coat of arms of the city of Siemianowice Śląskie ( Siemianowitz / Laurahütte ) goes back to the 18th century. In its current form, the coat of arms was designed in 1932 and adopted on June 26, 1936.
Description and meaning
On the left (heraldic right) is a man (a peasant) with a white traditional coat and a red hat in his right hand. On the right (heraldic left) is a flower (a rose) with three red petals. Below the man and the flower, a golden carp swims to the right in a river.
The coat of arms symbolizes the agricultural character that the place had before industrialization in the 19th century. The seal, which was created before 1789, shows a peasant in national costume with a long coat and a pointed hat in hand, while a later seal shows a miner standing on the fish. Furthermore, the river and the rose are missing. However, two stumps are shown with an unknown meaning. The coat of arms from 1936, however, is based on the agricultural seal from the 18th century.
The coat of arms of Laurahütte showed a heraldic shield with a sloping bar, in which the name Laurahütte is in capital letters. Above and below the sloping beam there is a hut man with a poker. Above the coat of arms there is a crossed mallet and an iron symbolizing mining and metallurgy.
