Wat Sa Si
The Wat Sa Si (also: Wat Sra Sri , Thai วัด สระ ศรี ) is a Buddhist temple complex ( Wat ) in the Sukhothai Historical Park , Sukhothai Province in the northern region of Thailand .
location
Along with Wat Tra Kuan and Wat Chana Songkhram, Wat Sa Si is one of three small temples that are in close proximity to the Ramkhamhaeng monument in the Sukhothai Historical Park . Wat Sa Si is very picturesquely in the middle of the Traphang Trakuan Lake northwest of Wat Mahathat . Due to its location, the temple is one of the most beautiful facilities in Sukhothai.
Attractions
Wat Sa Si, Wat Trakuan and Wat Chana Songkhram all have a Ceylon-style chedi . Only the ubosot is in a different position. The ubosot of Wat Cha Songkhram is to the west of the Chedi, that of Wat Trakuan is to the east at the point where the Wihan is mostly located. The Wihan of Wat Sa Si is located directly on the east side of the Chedi. Further to the east is the Ubosot on its own small island. All three temples had a large number of smaller chedis, of which only the foundations can be seen today. Due to the similarities in construction and the similar Bai Sema landmarks, it is now believed that they were all built at the same time.
