Wheat beer pils

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Weißbierpils is a combination of wheat beer and Pilsner beer that is produced in just one brewing process.

It is extremely difficult to make, as wheat beer requires top-fermenting yeast for fermentation , while Pilsener is brewed with bottom-fermenting yeast . When brewing together, the two types of yeast hinder each other so that a special technique is required to successfully complete the brewing process. Weißbierpils combines the fruity-spicy taste of wheat beer with the bitter taste of pilsner.
