World Malaria Day

The World Malaria Day on April 25, pays tribute to the global fight against malaria . The disease threatens more than 3 billion people; In 2010 there were an estimated 216 million illnesses and 655,000 deaths from malaria.

The day of remembrance was introduced as Africa Malaria Day in 2001 , a year after 44 African countries signed the Abuja Declaration . The World Health Assembly decided 2007 World Malaria Day.
