Westphalia is a place in the state of Texas .

The place is south of Waco on State Highway 320.

history

Church of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin

In 1879 the place was founded by Theodore Rabroker. He emigrated from Germany in 1866. At first he lived in Pennsylvania as a miner. He and his family settled in a place in Texas that they called Westphalia from 1879. In 1895 the village received a church. A post office was established in 1887, but closed again in 1895. In 2019 the church burned down.

175 families live in the small village of Westphalia.
