Weather forecast stone
A weather forecast stone (also known as a weather stone) is a humorous device for weather forecasting . It consists of a stone suspended from a rope or a chain, next to which is a board with (mostly trivial) explanations such as "wet stone = it's raining". Occasionally this board is artistically designed. Weather stones are sometimes part of garden shows, parks and hiking trails.

A variant of the weather stone is the donkey barometer. The stone is replaced by a piece of string, which represents the tail of a painted donkey.
