Viennese passepartout

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

With a Viennese passepartout , either a narrow, mitered wooden decorative strip is inserted into the passepartout cutout like a frame or two (or more) passepartouts are placed on top of each other (often two / more colored), with the cutout of the upper passepartout (s) is greater than that of the one below. In both cases the effect of depth increases and the gaze is drawn to the picture.
