The word mark WIKI is protected in Germany, Austria and the Benelux countries in class 30 ( long-life baked goods , namely dominoes, Aachener Printen , gingerbread hearts filled and unfilled, spritz cake and other gingerbread specialties, coffee biscuits) according to the Madrid Agreement on the international registration of trademarks . Trademark owner is the company Wi lhelm Ki nkartz GmbH & Co KG. The registration existed in Germany as a national trademark since 1956. Until 1998 the name was also registered with a logo as a figurative mark.
The word mark Wiki has been registered as a European community trademark in class 25 (clothing) in favor of the Danish textile company ES Konfektion ApS since 2002 (registration in 1998) . The German company BIRKI SCHUH GMBH tried since 1999 to contest the entry because of the risk of confusion - but the application was finally rejected in May 2006.
