Wilhelm Steinberg (piano making)

The piano manufacture Wilhelm Steinberg was founded in 1877 in Eisenberg , Thuringia , where it is also based.

In 1877 the Geyer family founded a piano manufacturing workshop in Eisenberg, from which the Wilhelm Steinberg piano manufacturing company emerged as a direct legal successor. The company survived the GDR era without expropriation , but was severely limited by the isolation. The traditional name, the company building and the staff went to the turn of the Thüringer Pianoforte GmbH over. The company produces around 1,000 pianos and grand pianos per year in Eisenberg.

The Parsons Music Group participated in 2008 and took over the entire company in summer 2013.
