Williams & Norgate

Williams & Norgate was a British publisher based in London and Edinburgh specializing in the publication of scientific literature.

Williams & Norgate was founded in 1842/43 by Edmund Sydney Williams (1817-1891) and Frederick Norgate (1818-1908). The publisher had offices in Covent Garden in London and in South Frederick Street in Edinburgh. Among other things, the publisher published the journal Natural History Review and Thomas Henry Huxley's work Evidence as to Man's Place in Nature .
