Willibald Freymüller

Willibald Freymüller , born as Franz Xaver Freymüller, (born November 6, 1807 in Mintraching ; † March 24, 1890 in Metten Monastery ) was a German theologian .

Life

Willibald Freymüller was born as Franz Xaver Freymüller and was baptized a Roman Catholic. He studied Catholic theology at the Collegium Germanicum in Rome and received his doctorate there. theol. Then he became a teacher at the Schottenkloster in Regensburg. In 1837 he entered the Benedictine order in the Metten monastery and took the name Willibald. In 1848 he became the first rector and director of the newly founded grammar school in Metten Monastery. He held this position until 1871.
