Windows Automated Installation Kit

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

With the Windows Automated Installation Kit (Windows AIK or WAIK) Microsoft offers a possibility to have Windows installed automatically. This technology has been used since Windows Vista (November 2006). The automatic installation skips all queries that usually occur during an operating system installation. The license key, computer name and other settings can be specified once and then installed on multiple computers.

The Windows System Image Manager (Windows SIM), with which Unattend.xmlleave files for unattended installation process create is included in the Windows Automated Installation Kit.

WAIK has been replaced by the Windows Assessment and Deployment Kit (ADK) and now also supports Windows 8.
