Windsor file

The Windsor Files (known in English as Marburg Files , Windsor Files or Duke of Windsor Files ) is a collection of files belonging to the Foreign Ministry of the Third Reich that were initially classified as highly secret . They were discovered by a US troop unit in May 1945 and brought together in Marburg Castle in Hesse. The documents were partially published in several waves, in 1952 and 1959, most recently in 1996. They document the relationships between the former English King Edward VIII and the Third Reich and its high-ranking protagonists, among others. a. Joachim von Ribbentrop and Adolf Hitler , and document attempts to return to the British throne with the help of the National Socialists if necessary .
