Business French

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Business French (French: le français des affaires ), also commercial French or business French , describes the use of business- specific idioms in French-speaking countries , which are used to communicate about professional and economic issues.

Business French aims to:

  • Understand economic information in the French language.
  • to express oneself competently orally and in writing about professional and economic issues.
  • to be able to process a broad spectrum of linguistically complex and technically demanding authentic oral and written texts from the economic context receptively and productively.
  • to express oneself orally about professional and economic issues in the French language correctly, appropriately and in a differentiated manner and to deal with business correspondence in an appropriate form.

Business French can be learned and taught as a specialization of the French language and is used by non-French native speakers to study economics in a Francophone country or to improve language skills in a French-speaking business situation .
