The business school Riga , natural notation: Riga Business School (RBS) , was established in 1991 in collaboration with the State University of New York at Buffalo , USA and the University of Ottawa , Canada founded and is a management training institution of the Technical University of Riga , Latvia .

The school has 1015 graduates. The RBS is the only school in the Baltic region , which offers a Masters in North American style both in teaching standards as well as the structure includes the case studies, group work and active participation in the classroom for a period of at least two years.

Programs

RBS was the first university in the Baltic States to offer master’s programs in English and to award its graduates with an internationally recognized degree in business administration (MBA) .

Bachelor in Business Administration

The curriculum of the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) at Riga Business School is based on the curriculum of the BBA programs of the Norwegian Business School BI (BI Norwegian Business School) and UB .

The curriculum focuses on basic business topics in management, such as finance, economics, methodology, law and intercultural communication.

This program provides a degree in "International Business" with a global approach. Duration of the program: 3 to 4 years (full-time).

Diploma

The program offers three options:

  • 3 years studies at the RBS in Riga with a degree from the RBS at the Technical University of Riga ;
  • 2 years of studies at the RBS in Riga, the third year at the BI Norwegian Business School including a double degree from the RBS and BI ;
  • 3 years of study at the RBS in Riga, the fourth year at the State University at Buffalo School of Management (UB) including double degrees from the RBS and the UB .

The bachelor courses available for selection vary with the chosen school model.

Master in Business Administration

General master

In the General MBA , elective subjects can be selected. The program consists of 15 courses - 9 core and 6 electives - as well as a master's thesis.

  • Core courses: business administration, management statistics, financial management, marketing management, financial and operational accounting, personnel management, organizational behavior, management information systems, strategic management
  • Electives: Leadership, Business Law, Business Ethics, Entrepreneurship, Project Management, Operations and Service Management, Market Research, Marketing Communication, Consumer Behavior, Business Communication Skills, International Financial Management, Investment and Banking, Corporate Finance, E-Business, Information Technology and Strategy, Information Assurance, Business finance, personal and professional development

Professional master

The Professional MBA at Riga Business School is the oldest master’s business administration program in Latvia and is aimed at professionals who want to hone their skills.

This Masters provides students with a background in the functional areas of business: core courses are compulsory for all students, and electives allow students to specialize their skills in specific management areas, and they suit their individual interests.

The program has a flexible schedule:

Lessons take place on working days from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The year is divided into 3 parts: autumn, spring and summer. There is flexibility in choosing between 1 and 4 courses per trimester. Students register for courses based on the semester offer.

Graduation:

After completing the Masters, students receive a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Riga Business School of the Riga Technical University.

The program's compliance with North American MBA standards is certified by all partner institutions and the student diploma is accompanied by a Certificate of Recognition from the UB and the University of Ottawa .

Managing Master

The Executive MBA Program (EMBA) of the Riga Business School is aimed at managers who want to develop.

The program focuses on core areas of management through research into business decisions from the perspective of executives, uses case studies and peer-to-peer learning to examine management and leadership practices.
