World Yo-Yo Contest

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The World Yo-Yo Contest (also known as Worlds ) is the world championship for yo-yo players. In the course of the competition, seven world titles will be awarded in different categories.

history

The first ever Yo-Yo World Cup took place in England in 1932. There were also before and after people who claimed the title for themselves, but this was more likely due to different manufacturers who simply awarded the title for advertising purposes. For example, in 1962 the Duncan Company had 32 demonstrators claiming they were World Yo-Yo Champion . But many of them had never taken part in a competition.

Dale Oliver organized the World Yo-Yo Contest in its present format in 1992. This has been manufacturer-independent since then.
