The Würfel Engine is a free game engine for isometric block worlds. The core of the engine is an isometric engine .

The engine uses the open source library libGDX . The main developer is Benedikt Vogler.

overview

The engine is a proof-of-concept and designed for productive use in games. Through the use of 2D rendering techniques ( billboards ), the engine's speed and resource consumption are very low despite the use of an isometric projection ("pseudo-3D") of the three-dimensional game world. The engine can therefore also be used on less powerful computers, which is part of the development philosophy.

A WYSIWYG map editor is included that allows maps to be edited quickly at runtime.
