The YJ-6 (also C-601 ; NATO code name CAS-1 Kraken ) is a Chinese anti-ship missile whose development began in 1975. It is a variant of the HY-2 , which in turn is based on the Soviet P-15 "Termit" (SS-N-2 "Styx"). The first test starts took place in 1984; Production of the rocket began in the same year, so that it could be put into service in 1985.

It has a pulse radar and is equipped with an ECCM system. Before the rocket is launched, its altitude (500, 70 or 50 meters) can be set.
