Yrkesorganisasjonenes Sentralforbund

Yrkesorganisasjonenes Sentralforbund (YS) is a Norwegian , politically independent trade union federation . YS was founded on January 18, 1977 and consists of 13 associations with around 218,000 members (2018). The members come from all professions.

The main organ is the Congress, which meets every four years. Between the congresses, the 16-strong main board is responsible for the management. This consists of the first and second chairman, the chairman of YS Stat (employees in the public sector from ten different member associations) and one representative from each member association. The main board meets at least once a quarter.

YS is a member of the International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC) and the European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC).
