The Good Hope III colliery is a former coal mine in Löttringhausen . The colliery was a small mine that was only in operation for a few years. The colliery was located at Löttringhauser Straße 311 and was owned by Erwin Schmidt.

Mining history

In 1954 the colliery was put into operation, with 28 miners 772 tons of hard coal were extracted . The following year 35 miners mined 3592 tons of hard coal. The maximum production was achieved in 1960 with 22 miners; 5508 tons of hard coal were extracted. On May 11, 1962, the Good Hope III colliery in Dortmund-Kruckel, the Finefrau side shaft, was put into operation. Erwin Schmidt was also the owner of this small mine , which was also known as the Zeche Gute Hoffnung II or simply the Finefrau side shaft . This mine was probably merged with the Gute Hope colliery in 1963. In 1964 18 miners produced 1893 tons of hard coal. On May 30, 1965, both the Gute Hoffnung III colliery and the Finefrau side shaft were shut down.
