The Gute Hope VI colliery is a former hard coal mine in Löttringhausen . The colliery was a small mine and emerged from the Wilhelm III colliery . The colliery was located at Hagener Straße 476 and was only in operation for a few years.
Mining history
On May 1st, 1955, the Wilhelm III colliery went into operation. The owner of this small mine was Wilhelm Schneider. The following year, were 18 miners 1,924 tons of coal mined . In 1960, 13 miners provided the maximum mining output for the Wilhelm III mine; this year it amounted to 3248 tons of hard coal. The following year, the Wilhelm III colliery was renamed the Gute Hope VI colliery. Erwin Schmidt became the new owner of the small mine. In 1962, 15 miners extracted 1701 tons of hard coal. In 1964, 13 miners mined 2,140 tons of hard coal. On April 15, 1965, the Gute Hope VI colliery was shut down.
