Zenon of Rhodes was a Greek politician and historian of the 3rd and 2nd centuries BC. Chr.

He was the author of a local history of Rhodes with the title χρονικὴ σύνταξις ( Chronicle Syntaxis ), which only survived in fragments, which dates from its beginnings up to the year 164/163 BC. In addition to the history of Rhodes, it also passed on events from other regions and cultural and historical information. He was an older contemporary of Polybius , of whom we know that Zeno's works were of high literary quality. However, there was not only praise from Polybios, but sometimes also sharp criticism for inaccuracies and Rhodian local patriotism, which is why the two were also in the correspondence.
