The Central Art Depot (ZED) of the Prussian Palaces and Gardens Foundation is an art depot that is not open to the public in the southern inner city of Potsdam , on the site of the former Reichsbahn repair shop (RAW) . The foundation stone was laid in July 2016 and it was officially opened for use on May 9, 2018. The building cost 12 million euros and was financed from the so-called Master Plan I for the rescue of important monuments in the Berlin and Potsdam palace landscape by the federal government and the states of Berlin and Brandenburg.

Approx. 28,000 works of art, paintings and other historically valuable objects from the former Prussian and German ruling house of the Hohenzollern family , which previously could only be stored sparingly in several temporary storage facilities, are kept in the depot .

The building offers 5100 square meters of space on two floors for the inventory, which is of very different artistic and market value and is of particular importance for historical-scientific research.

In the 2020s, a sculpture depot is to be built next door, where the sculptures will then be relocated.Template: future / in 4 years
