To the Holy Cross (Düsseldorf)
The Church of the Holy Cross at Rather Kreuzweg 43 in Düsseldorf-Rath was built in 1956/58 according to designs by Josef Lehmbrock .
description
The church interior was built on a parabolic floor plan as a single nave central room. The walls are double-shelled and filled with concrete. They consist of flame-shaped artificial stone slabs, which were worked according to designs by the art academy professor Günter Grote . In 1964 a free-standing church tower with six bells was built. The construction is based on the octa plate invented by Josef Fröhlich .
