Cyclone Belna was a tropical cyclone .

Cyclone Belna hit the country of Madagascar on Monday, December 9, 2019 with wind gusts of up to 130 km / h near Soalala in the northwest of the island state and brought high waves and heavy rain with it. According to the authorities, at least one person has died, and other media reports that between two and nine people have died. Three people are missing in the city of Soalala and around 1500 people no longer have a home. The cyclone has since weakened to a storm, said the weather authorities.
