The 227th Division was a major unit of the Prussian army within the German Army in the First World War .

history

The division was formed on February 25, 1917 on the Western Front and was in service there until the end of the First World War. After the end of the war, the occupied territory was evacuated, the march back home and demobilization and eventual dissolution there.

  • 0April 7th to May 13th - Fights on the Avre , Montdidier and Noyon
  • 0June 9-18 - fighting on the Avre and Matz
  • June 19 to August 21 - trench warfare at Xivray, Seicheprey and at the Jury Forest
  • August 22nd to September 4th - defensive battle between Oise and Aisne
  • 0September 5th to 8th - fighting in front of the Siegfried Front
  • 05th to 20th September - Fights near Vauxaillon and Laffaux in the Siegfried Line
  • September 28th to October 9th - trench warfare north of the Ailette
  • October 10-12 - Fighting on the Hunding and Brunhild fronts
  • October 13th to November 4th - fights in the dog position
  • 05th to 11th November - fighting in retreat in front of the Antwerp - Meuse position
  • from November 12th - evacuation of the occupied territory and march home
