Greece

  • An army of the Spartans and their Peloponnesian allies, led by the two kings Cleomenes I and Damaratus, marches against Athens with the intention of occupying it and using Isagoras as an Attic tyrant. After Eleusis was captured, the Corinthians question the meaning of this campaign and refuse to participate. There are arguments between the two Spartan kings, the armed forces finally dissolve, the campaign is broken off.
  • At the same time Athens is attacked by armies of the Boeotian League and the Chalcis and can defeat them. With the Boebotians the status quo ante was restored, Chalkis became dependent on the Athenians, who founded a clergy there.
