- 23rd year of reign of the Assyrian king Sîn-aḫḫe-eriba (682–681 BC):
- Assyrian writers record the total lunar eclipse of March 20/21. January (15th Sabatu ; 1st Sabatu falls on January 6-7). The partial phase begins around 11:00 p.m. local time and ends around 3:00 a.m. local time.
- Declaration of the leap month Addaru II , which begins on March 6th.
- 24th year of reign of the Assyrian King Sennacherib (681–680 BC):
- In the Babylonian calendar , the Babylonian New Year of Nisannu 1 fell on the 5th – 6th. April, the full moon in Nisannu on the 17th - 18th April, the 1st Du'uzu on the 2nd – 3rd July, the full moon in Du'uzu on the 15th - 16th. July and the 1st Tašritu on 29-30 . September.
- Assyrian writers record the total lunar eclipse of July 15th (14th Du'uzu), the partial phase of which begins around 6:00 p.m. local time one hour before sunset and ends around 10:00 p.m. local time.
