The dogma "Immaculate Conception of Mary"

On December 8, 1854, Pope Pius IX. with the dogmatic bull Ineffabilis Deus proclaims the doctrine "which states that the Blessed Virgin Mary (mother of Jesus) in the first moment of her conception ... was preserved unscathed from any stain of original guilt".

Adoration of the Virgin Mary

A renewal of Marian devotion began in the 19th century, initiated by Pope Pius IX, with the proclaimed dogma of. Immaculate Conception (cf. the Dogmatic Constitution.
