Schuler jumped internationally for the first time at an FIS race in Kranj in September 2005 and finished 54th. After further FIS races he started in October 2006 for the first time at an FIS Cup in Einsiedeln and surprisingly came sixth. After that, he continued to contest several FIS Cups and FIS races. In the Continental Cup he went for the first time in late 2007 in Engelberg at the start. After finishing 47th in the first competition, Schuler surprisingly scored Continental Cup points in 18th in the second competition. At the Junior World Championships in Zakopane he finished 25th in the individual and tenth in the team with Rémi Français , Gregor Deschwanden and Pascal Egloff . He has been competing in the Continental Cup regularly since summer 2008 and has already scored points several times. At the Junior World Championships 2009 in Štrbské Pleso , Schuler was 37th in the individual and eleventh in the team with Marco Grigoli, Pascal Egloff and Vital Anken . In March 2009 he started in Lahti for the first time in a World Cup qualification , but missed it as 52nd. One day later he finished 10th in a team with Andreas Küttel , Pascal Egloff and Simon Ammann . In the 2009/10 season , Schuler mainly started in the Continental Cup. At the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships 2010 in Hinterzarten , Schuler finished 44th in the individual and tenth in the team with the same line-up as in 2009, with Marco Grigoli being disqualified. In Lahti he was again at the start of a World Cup and missed the qualification. He finished ninth in the team with Marco Grigoli, Andreas Küttel and Simon Ammann. After performing well in the summer of 2010 , Schuler was only used sporadically internationally in the winter. In the World Cup he did not start at any jumping and in the Continental Cup only in Engelberg and Titisee-Neustadt , but increasingly in the Alpine Cup . At the Junior World Championships 2011 in Otepää , Schuler finished 44th in the individual and sixth in the team with Marco Grigoli, Pascal Egloff and Gregor Deschwanden.
