The Suco Aelebere is located in the southern center of the administrative office of Iliomar.  The place Aelebere is in the northeast of the Sucos.

Aelebere ( Ailebere ) is an East Timorese place and Suco in the administrative office of Iliomar ( Lautém municipality ). Hael means "cotton" in Makalero , pere "large", so that the meaning of the place name is roughly "large cotton".

The place

The place Aelebere is located in the northeast of the Sucos at an altitude of 320  m and is part of the settlement center Iliomar , the capital of the subdistrict. There is a primary school, a secondary school preparation school, a community health center and a permanent helipad.

Aelebere has 808 inhabitants (2015), of which 372 are men and 436 women. The population density is 44.5 inhabitants / km². There are 165 households in the Suco. Over 97% of the residents state Makalero as their mother tongue. Minorities speak Makasae or Tetum Prasa .

Before the 2015 regional reform, Aelebere had an area of ​​4.99 km². Now there are 18.17 km². The Suco is located in the southern center of the Iliomar sub-district. In the north and west it borders on the Suco Tirilolo . The river Lihulo forms the western border . The southern coastal road, one of the country's main traffic axes, runs along the border in the south and east and swings north towards the district capital Lospalos . It also cuts through the Iliomar settlement center. The northern part belongs to Aelebere, while the south is divided into the sucos Iliomar I and Iliomar II . The places Leilor , Aelebere, Marafal and Ara'Ara ( Ara Ara ) also belong to this settlement center . A little further to the southwest is the place Ossohira ( Ossoira ). Across the road is Suco Fuat in the northeast .

The four Aldeias Heitali , Lalumato , Leilor and Marafal are located in Alebere .

Aelebere was founded in 1917.

politics

In the 2004/2005 elections , Eurico Jeronimo was elected Chefe de Suco. In the 2009 elections , João Antonio de Jesus won .
