Ahmed Hossam Hussein Abdelamid ( Arabic أحمد حسام, DMG Aḥmad Ḥusām , born February 23, 1983 in Cairo ), better known as Mido , is a former Egyptian football player and current coach . In his playing days he was a striker .

Mido played at AS Roma on loan, Olympique Marseille , Ajax Amsterdam , Celta Vigo and most recently at FC Barnsley , where he ended his playing career in 2013.

He made a name for himself in 2002 when he was named Africa's Younger Player of the Year. He made his debut in the Egyptian national soccer team against the United Arab Emirates , where he won 2-1 with Egypt.
