Community structure

Alsbach-Hähnlein consists of the districts Alsbach (seat of the municipal administration), Hähnlein and Sandwiese in the Alsbach district .

history

Alsbach

Alsbach was first mentioned in 779 as Altdorfesbach. In 1240 Alsbach Castle was built by the Lords of Bickenbach as Bickenbach Castle. Since 1846, the place had a rail connection to the Main-Neckar Railway , with the Hähnlein-Alsbach station.

Chicken

Hähnlein was mentioned for the first time in 1333 in the Lorsch Codex under the name Hennechen . However, the name has nothing to do with a rooster . Spellings like Hainlin (1578) show that the name comes from Hagen , a settlement in the forest. The core of the later village settlement formed the Hainer Hof , the later rescue house and today's mayor's office.

Sand meadow

Sandwiese was founded in 1949 on a sand dune west of Alsbach around the Hähnlein-Alsbach train station .

Alsbach chicken

The municipality was created as part of the regional reform in Hesse on January 1, 1977 through the merger of the two previously independent municipalities Alsbach and Hähnlein Kraft Landesgesetz under the name Alsbach . On January 1, 1978 this parish was renamed Alsbach-Hähnlein . Local districts according to the Hessian municipal code were not established.

coat of arms

Alsbach-Hähnlein coat of arms
Blazon : "In blue, a silver oblique left-hand bar, accompanied by a silver lily between two silver stars, and by a silver rooster below."

The coat of arms was approved by the Hessian Ministry of the Interior on April 26, 1978 . It was designed by the Bad Nauheim heraldist Heinz Ritt .

Justification of the coat of arms: The coat of arms connects the coats of arms of the districts Alsbach (lily and stars) and Hähnlein (Hahn).

In addition to the coat of arms, there has been a new community logo since 2009. The district Sandwiese is found again for the first time. A conciliatory message is conveyed with the inscription "Congregation in three ways".

The municipality does not fly an official flag. However, there is an unofficial flag that shows the municipal coat of arms on a red, white and red flag.

Partnerships

Alsbach-Hähnlein has had partnership relationships with Diósd in Hungary since 1989 and with Crinitzberg in Saxony since 1991.
